The Glenview Theatre Guild, a brief history...
Founded
in 1974, the Glenview Theatre Guild (GTG) offers Glenview
and the surrounding communities a high quality, low-cost exposure
to theatre. In addition, as a sponsored program of the Glenview
Park District the group enables talented individuals from
Glenview and throughout Chicagoland to share their gifts on
stage.
Each year GTG presents a major musical production at Glenbrook
South High School in Glenview, Illinois. (though Glenbrook
North High School is Considered our second home) On average,
2,500-3,000 theatre-goers enjoy each year's production.
The annual show typically involves a cast of 30-60
singers, dancers and actors as well as a support staff of
20-40 people (e.g., director, choreographer, music director,
producer, costume designer, set designer, stage crew, etc.).
Most of the individuals involved in the show volunteer their
time and talents to bring quality, affordable entertainment
to the community.
The Glenview Theatre Guild fosters a sense of community among
all persons involved in putting on the production. The months
of work really pay off when we present a professional quality
production to you, our audience!

The Glenview Theatre Guild is a member of the
Northern Illinois Community Theatre group.
